Christmas message from Bishop NGENDAHAYO EMMANUEL

The most beloved in Christ, Peace from God the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit; Amen. For the 29th time we celebrate the Birth of Christ as the EAR Diocese of Byumba, I am pleased to share with you the message of wishing all of you a Merry Christmas. I take this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year 2021 in advance; May it be the answer to all your desires. Beloved Children of God, This Christmas comes at a time when the whole world is facing the Corona virus which has had an economic, social and religious impact. Where the majority showed little faith, and a return to the relationship between man and his God. He thinks that God has forsaken him, so he must find another way to live without God. Yet it is not, for the love of God and His mercy are still there and His plan to save the world and redeem it has not changed. It is fitting, then, that we respond to the message of the prophet Isaiah, fulfilled in the words of John the Baptist: "Prepare the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight." Surely we must prepare our hearts and minds and receive the love of God that came through our Lord Jesus Christ; through light and light it gives us eternal salvation. This light came to cast out the darkness of darkness that culminated in the Feast of the Ascension of the Sun that led men to the shameful deeds leading to the destruction of mankind. Thank God for giving us Christ as the true light that gives us eternal life. So this Savior, let us receive Him, follow Him, be His disciples, proclaim Him, and learn from Him because He is gentle and light in heart and not burdensome, and He will comfort us in our hearts (Mt 11: 28-30). Therefore, Christian Brethren, let us allow Christ to find lodging in our hearts 'to give us indescribable peace, to reconcile us to God, to reconcile us to those we disagree with, to be the answer to all our problems because he must fulfill the message that left him with the glory and honor he had. He has in heaven and comes into this evil world of darkness, bringing the light of life and soul. Let His coming bring us good change; let us be transformed by the history, ethics and social life characterized by love, solidarity, unity, zeal and courage to love God, our neighbors, our Church and our country. God bless you. HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021!
